INFOLABUANBAJO.ID – A foreign citizen (WNA) from Switzerland with the initials LS was reported to the West Manggarai Police, NTT because he was suspected of stealing personal data in the form of numbers and land certificates belonging to Fanni Lauren Christie.

D. Ediyanto M. Silalahi, SH, Fanni Lauren Christie’s attorney, said that a public complaint had been made about the theft of his client’s personal documents to the West Manggarai Police in April 2024.

“We carried out Dumas in April 2024, continuing to follow up today with a Police Report and reports related to Personal Data Protection (PDP) and LS as the reported party,” said Edianto when met by media crew at the West Manggarai Police Headquarters, Tuesday (23/ 7/2024).

“So today we will look at developments at the Police, because my process at the Police has taken too long, so today we are here to follow up on the directions from the Police so that they can be carried out legally,” he continued.

Edyanto said that LS as the reported party was a foreign citizen (WNA) from Switzerland. He also hopes that the West Manggarai Police will immediately summon LS to provide information regarding the personal data held by his client.

“The reported LS is Swiss, so that’s what we are waiting for, we hope that LS will be summoned to give a statement at the West Manggarai Police. “So we’ll just wait for the results of the investigation, the investigation from the Police later,” he said.

Adyanto revealed the problem regarding personal data held by his client after a lawsuit from LS stated that several Ownership Certificates (SHM) belonged to his client, while there was no connection with the SHM sold by his client, namely three plots of land.

“Because in the lawsuit he (LS) mentioned several Certificates of Ownership (SHM) belonging to my client, while the connection with the lawsuit was that my client sold three (3) areas of the certificate. “However, it is stated there as compensation for the property of my client as a whole and the data from whom there are several certificates,” he said.

“So there are 9 certificates out of the three, so how come this data came out, who provided that data, how come in his lawsuit he entered data on someone who has nothing to do with his rights? “So that’s what we are emphasizing here, what the process is like,” he stressed.

Head of Public Relations for the West Manggarai Police, Iptu Eka Dharma Yudha, said that regarding the report submitted by Fanni Lauren Christie, it was related to the personal data protection report that had been reported today.

Inspector Eka said in the report that it was related to the 2022 Law of the Republic of Indonesia concerning the protection of personal data and that one of the respondents was LS.

“Related to the Republic of Indonesia Law of 2022 concerning personal data protection. “And one of the reported persons has the initials LS and this is the first time the victim has reported it and then the investigation team will follow up later to carry out an investigation,” said Inspector Eka to a number of media crew at the West Manggarai Police Headquarters, Tuesday (23/7/2024).

He added that previously the victim, Fanni Lauren Christie, had carried out Dumas at the West Manggarai Police and Mabar Police investigators had also taken statements from the victim and five witnesses from the victim. Meanwhile, LS as the reported party had officially invited him to provide clarification but never attended.

“For the victim, we have taken statements and the witnesses we have summoned are around five witnesses from the victim’s side. Then for LS we have sent official clarification invitations twice but they did not attend. So we plan to make more invitations. “After the LP, another invitation for clarification will be made because yesterday it was just a complaint,” he said.

He also said that after the investigators coordinated with his legal assistant, he (LS) was always absent.

“The reason when we were invited was based on information from PH, who always coordinates with us, the LS was unavailable, then the second one was out of the country and we were given a photo of the ticket. But later we will coordinate again with the PH to invite further clarification. “Then we are also investigating other witnesses regarding this personal data,” he concluded. ***
